In the abyss of my mind I see
Two worlds colliding gracefully
A world of dreams and pastures new
A world of my life with dreams so few
Between the two is a crevice deep
It’s where I fall when I’m asleep
Which step to take I cannot see
As I stand on the edge of reality
I know the path that I must take
I will be right there when I awake
A dream world state is not for me
I’ll stay right here in reality

Your last two lines are poignant and telling. The rhyme and cadence are nicely constructed as well.
Thank you for dropping by Kim, I am glad you liked the poem. 🙂
That’s where I would rather be too. Well done–I really like this, Jeanie.
Thank you again for your kind words. 🙂
