The Wolf

I see you

The Wolf

I see you standing there, with head held high

Pointing upward towards the moonlit sky

Your haunting song sounding so very clear

Your family will now know that you are near

This wondrous moment I will treasure

An experience so hard to measure

No howling soon from shore to shore

Your existence soon to be no more

Man’s fear of you is known so well

And shared in tales they like to tell

In books and films the fear goes on

Your days are numbered one by one

Ancestors of man still tell the tales

Of howling wolves and farmers wails

And through this harsh reality

Man has shaped wolf’s destiny

Go now dear wolf and find a place

Far away from the human race

Protect your family as well as you can

For the destroyer of the wolf is fear and man

Howling of the wolf
